OASIS
OUR September and October meetings were much enjoyed. “Zoom into Zambia”
was the title of the talk for our first meeting of the autumn given by
Enid Corcoran who shared the experience of visiting her daughter there
earlier in the year. In October Sarah Nicholas recounted more of her holiday
travels, with slides, in aid of Dorothy House. She took us on a fascinating
trip to Poland. We are grateful to them both for such interesting and
informative, and at times, moving talks.
In November we look forward to a return visit from Dawn Cuthbertson for
a quiet morning of meditation – “Christ in Quiet”. This will be on Wednesday
6th November in the Old Bakery with coffee from 10.00am. 2002 is rushing
by and we shall be having a Christmas Coffee Morning on Saturday 9th November
which will be in the Old Bakery in Freshford. Please do come and support
our annual fund-raising event and enjoy our various stalls. We shall also
be collecting Christmas shoe boxes for needy children in Eastern Europe
and leaflets are available in the churches and school on how to fill them.
