TheTroops at the Railway Station, 1903. These are some of the troops from E Company, 1st Wiltshire Rifle volunteers at the railway station. They had recently received new uniforms and slouch hats. The occasion would most likely be when they travelled to Dorset for joint manoeuvres with the Dorset volunteers at East Lulworth in August 1903. Having seen these soldiers, I wonder whether the boy sitting on the cart became one himself, or was called up to fight in the First World War? ( from Paul De`Ath "around Bradford on Avon")
