the Friends of Freshford
The Friends of Freshford Association was formed in 1969 to protect and maintain the character of the village and, over the years, it has worked to conserve the best features of Freshford and its rural environment. The Association has also endeavoured to prevent unsympathetic development and to provide improvements to village amenities. On the practical side, the Association has planted trees and bulbs, helped to maintain the footpaths, cleaned the local rivers and generally worked to keep the village tidy. It closely supports the activities of the Freshford Parish Council and is happy to cooperate with the Limpley Stoke Parish Council in mutually beneficial initiatives. The Association organises events to fund its activities and village amenities, and there are normally two Open Meetings a year when a speaker is invited: one is the AGM. There is a small annual subscription. Anyone living in or near Freshford and Limpley Stoke who is interested in the quality of their environment is invited to join the Association.
