Ireland and one of the kings majestic noble honourable privy counsel in the
said kingdom of Ireland and the Lady Frances his wife Countess of Clanricard
sole daughter and heir of the right honourable noble Sir Francis Walsingham
knight deceased late principle secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth and sometime
wife of the honourable Sir Philip Sidney Knight deceased and afterwards the
wife of right honourable
deceased, Sir Henry Pelverton of

Know ye that the said Earl & Countess of Clanricard
As well in part
of performance of certain covenants agreements specified comprised and contained
in a
.. Pair of indenture of the date of those present had made between
the said Earl and Countess of Clanricard , Sir Henry Pelverton, Richard Hadson
& Walter Pyt on their parties And Richard Dicke the
of Turleigh in
the County of Wiltshire Clothier and George Dicke third son of the said Richard
Dicke of the other parties. As also for sundry other good reasons & considerations
than thereunto
. Have & either of them hath granted enforced delivered
& confirmed and by those present does either of them both grant enforce
deliver & confirm unto the said Richard Dicke & George Dicke their heirs
& assignees for ever. All these ... Messuages or tenements and one and half
yards of land with its appertenure situate lying and being in Stoke in the said
County of Wiltshire now or late in the tenure or occupation of Edward White
and his Assignees and all that Messuage or Tenement and one and half yards of
land and one Cottage and certain lands called Overlands with their and every
of their appertenures situated lying & being in Stoke aforesaid now or late
in the tenure
.. Poole widow or her assignees And all those three messuages
or Tenements and one and half yards of land certain other lands situated being
and lying in Stoke aforesaid & in Midford in the said County of Wiltshire
now or lately in the Tenure or occupation of John Shute or his Assignees. And
all that cottage with its appertenures situated being and lying in Stoke aforesaid
now or late in the tenure of Richard Longe or his assignees. And all that messuage
or tenement and one farendell of Land with its appertenures situated lying and
being in Stoke aforesaid now or late in the tenure or occupation of John Hall
or his assignees And all that messuage or tenement and one and half yards of
land situated being and lying in Stoke now or late in the tenure or occupation
William Legge alias Rodway or his assignees. And all that messuage or tenement
and one and half yards with its appertenure situated & being in Stoke aforesaid
now or late in the tenure or occupation of John Longe or his assignees. And
all that messuage or tenement called the Church house & certain lands thereto
belonging with the appertenure situated lying and being in Stoke aforesaid And
all houses edifices Cottages Buildings Barns Stables Dyehouses Gardens Orchards
Backsides Lands Meadows and pastures feedings numerous walks...pastures woods
underwoods trees and the soil thereof ways, passages waters tytheings commodities
rents reversions herriotts and all other profits & advantages whatsoever
in Stoke & Mitford alias Midford aforesaid in the county of Wiltshire to
the said several messuages, tenements cottages and several and premises
belonging and appertaining or therefore usually held occupied enjoyed or taken
to or in the said several messuages tenements cottages & premises or any
of them. And the reversions remainder & remainders yearly profits rents
and services reserved upon whatsoever demise or granted demises or grants here
unto made or granted of the said several messuages or tenements, cottages &
premises several of them, And all such and the like commons of pasture and feedings
for cattle & sheep in the waste grounds & fields of Stoke and Mitford
alias Mydford aforesaid or else where, And all such time & times and in
such forth manner & form as at any time hence forth were used & accustomed
to be taken to & the said several messuages, tenements & cottages and
premises or any part or parcel thereof whilst the same were customary lands
or held by Soppit of Court Roll To Have and to hold the said several messuages
or tenements , Lands ,meadows feedings pastures domons, domons of pasture &
all other the premises with their appertenure unto the said Richard Dicke &
George Dike & their heirs and assignes foe ever to the use & benefit
of the said Richard Dicke & George Dicke & their heirs and assignees
for ever to the use & Behoose of the said Richard Dicke and George Dicke
and their heirs and assignees for ever. And the said Earl & Countesse of
Clanricard for themselves and the said messuage tenement , lands, meadows, pastures,
feedings, domons, domons of pasture and all other the premises with their appertenures
unto the said Richard Dicke & George Dicke their heirs & assignes against
them the said Earl & Countess of Clanricard and Lady Frances their heirs
& assignes shall and will from henceforth forever hereafter warrant &
defend by their presense: And the said Sir Henry Pelverton for himself and his
heirs - the said messuages, tenements, lands, meadows, pastures, feedings, Domons
& Domons of pasture and all other the premises & appertenures to the
said Richard Dicke & George Dicke and their heirs & assignes against
him the said Henry and his heirs and assignes shall and will from henceforth
for ever hereafter warrant & defend by their presents. And the said Richard
Hadson for himself and his heirs the said several messuages tenements, lands,
meadows, pastures, feedings, domons, domons of pasture and all the other the
premises with appertenures unto the said Richard Dicke their heirs & assignes
against him and the said Richard Hadson his heirs & assignes shall and will
from henceforth for ever after warrant & defend by their presents : and
the said Walter Pyt for himselfr and his heirs the said messuages tenements
, lands, meadows, pastures, feedings, domons & domons of pasture and all
other the premises with appertenures unto the said Richard Dicke & George
Dicke their heirs & assignes against him the said Walter Pyt his heirs and
assignes shall and will from henceforth for ever after warrant & defend
by their presents And the said Earl & Countess of Claniricard & Henry
Pelverton, Richard Hadson & Walter Pyt have.. Every of them hath made constitute
and appointed and in their and either of their place and head put John Keir(?)
Gent and Robert Browne gent. Their and either of them
& lawful Attourney
and Attourneys .. & several for their every of them and in their and every
of their names into the said messuages, tenements, cottages, lands, meadows,
pastures, feedings, Domons, Domons of pasture. And all other the premises or
into some part their of the name of the whole and the possession thereof for
them and in the names to take and after such possession to had and taken, possession
& seizing there for all some part thereof in the name of the whole unto
the said Richard Dicke and George Dicke or either of them or their .. Attorney
in that behalf to deliver to house to their the said Richard Dicke and George
Dicke their heirs and assignes
. And true intent of their presents: In
Witness whereof the said Earl of Clanricard & Countess , Sir Henry Pelverton,
Richard Hadson and Walter Pyt have hereunto put their hand & seals the fifth
day of July 1615 In the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord James by the
Grace of God King of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Defender of the
Faith. That is to say of England, France & Ireland the thirteenth and of
Scotland the eighth and fortieth Signed:
